The fabric becomes very strong and increases the tensile strength of the weft by as much as 30%.<br \/>\nThe fabric undergoes a calendering process (the fabric is pressed through two rollers) which minimises white creases.<br \/>\nAs the coating is pressed into the canvas during the calendaring process, the water column also increases and the canvas becomes smoother and flatter.
